‘Rewilding is a simple concept: giving land back to wildlife and wildlife back to the land. To rewild is to restore natural processes, revive degraded habitats, reintroduce species either missing or depleted, and then step back and watch as the ecosystem becomes self-willed and self-regulating once again in an alchemy of flux, dynamism and unpredictability.’ Gordon Eaglesham
Over the last 5 years, I have opened up my studio to the public, to visit during the AKA (Alternative Kilkenny Arts) and the Thomastown Creative Arts Festival. Each year the artwork has focused on a different theme, based on the native plants growing on the land surrounding my studio in Co. Kilkenny, Ireland. The land has been left to re-wild or regenerate itself over the last 8 years.
